More to Life to Discover- Dr. Damika Howard-Wayne , Career and Life Coach
Thank you for clicking to read more about who I am. You clicked only to see what makes me "different" and not a cliché "Life Coach". So I am not going to spill into so much of what I can do with my words to encourage you, but with my actions.
I am told I have a dynamic and vibrant personality who motivates and inspires audiences with my engaging and candid talks. Whether drawing from over two decades of successful higher education experience and company ownership or from the wisdom gained through transformational and intuitively guided living, I know I have a mission. A mission to promote diversity and empowerment to young people throughout society, wherever I can. Along with this discovery, there were traumatic events, happy events, and times when I tried to imagine a Utopia of an event (some people would call that daydreaming) that has gotten me to this point of my life.
I've spent years motivating and inspiring audiences to get out of their comfort zone and become more cognitive of mental health awareness. After starting my career in education, I am now seen as the go-to motivational keynote speaker for educators, leadership forums, churches and universities that want their people to improve their morale, teamwork, and communication skills and ultimately achieve more results.
As the Founder of D.E.W, I've honed my skills to motivate audiences who are often hard to motivate. With my engaging discernment and fun personality, I have connected with my audiences immediately and delivers content that they can immediately use when they get back to their lives.
In 2015, I found myself in a world spin.
That year, I didn't have goals. I didn't feel like eating. I was upset, I was heartbroken. I told myself, 'You have a choice: Either continue feeling this way or do something to change your life,"
After many research and counseling sessions, I realize being a counselor myself did not mean I was perfect, it broke me and I knew that there was “more to life to discover”.
I wanted to stop the norm of attending the annual “women empowerment conference”, or a "Yes I Can" conference. I told myself I do not want to be just a "motivational speaker". I want to speak to someone and help them find healing before they walk out of the room.
“You start with a vision, a picture of what you desire. You expect detours, delays, discouragement, but you still hold – determined to see the vision fulfilled”
With that said, I begin to realize my purpose is to motivate and empower other people, to listen to what they say and pull out what they could never imagine, not only by speaking life into them but providing the resources and steps to do so. And that is why I am here for you!
Regardless of the situation, capacity, or context, the only way we will truly change their circumstances is if they decide to be a catalyst—someone who changes the status quo. Some of the Major Points Covered in this Presentation Include:
Understanding the influence you have over those around you and using that influence to create positive things.
Identifying the areas of your world that need action/help.
Being the person who not only stands for the right thing, but that also stands against the wrong thing.
Having an attitude of action rather than apathy.

Yet only minutes later, that same room is silent; audience find themselves hanging on to every word of Damika's heartfelt and challenging message. It is at this point that the audience in attendance realize they are no longer watching a presentation to an audience of hundreds or even thousands—they are hearing their own personal call to action.
